Mr. Mehrez Boussayene is the Managing Partner and a lawyer at the Court of Cassation, as well as an arbitrator specializing in Dispute Resolution, Arbitration, and Litigation at Boussayene Knani & Associés. A former magistrate, he has practiced various disciplines of business law, judicial law, and real estate law for nearly 34 years, with extensive experience in Mergers and Acquisitions.
This dual experience has provided him with extensive expertise in various fields. Before joining the bar, he held several key positions:
  • Advisor to the Court of Appeal of Tunis, specializing in civil, commercial, and summary chambers.
  • Reporter Judge at the Tunis Real Estate Court.
  • Reporter Judge at the Commercial Chamber of the Court of First Instance of Tunis.
  • Commissioner Judge for collective proceedings.
  • Investigating Judge in Tunis, focusing primarily on criminal business law.
  • Former elected member of the Superior Council of Magistracy and the Disciplinary Council of Magistrates.
After joining the bar, he has held the following roles:
  • Former member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).
  • Member of the International Union of Lawyers (UIA).
  • Arbitrator at the National Sports Arbitration Committee of Tunisia.
  • Former President of several sporting organizations.
  • President of the Tunisian National Olympic Committee since 2013.
  • Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Commissions and the Association of National Olympic Committees (ACNOA).
  • Instructor for the “Arbitration and Sports Law” course in the 3rd cycle Master’s program at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Tunis.
  • Member of the London Court of International Arbitration.
  • Member of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) since 2023.
